What is the difference between Domain names and IP Addresses ?
What is IP Address?
IP Address is the acronym for Internet Protocol, and it differs from a domain name, as it is a code that consists of a group of numbers.
It is an important code for the computer, but not important for the Internet user. Every computer has a private, non-duplicating IP address.
And the server on which your location data is stored has a special IP address as well.
Let’s say briefly that the IP address is the address of the website that is used by the computer. The domain name is the address that users use to access the site.
What is DNS ?
It means the domain name system, without it, no internet user will be able to access any website. It is the link between the domain name that consists of letters and the user understands it, to the IP address that he understands and deals with the computer (your site’s server)
How to link domain name to hosting
In order to link the domain name to your hosting, you must:
The first step
Change (Name servers) or DNS in the domain settings to set it on the name of your server in the new hosting.
Which the hosting is supposed to provide you with when you book a hosting with them.
You will find it in the message about completing the hosting settings, or you can ask them through support services to give you the names of your server.
The second step
What you should do is through the hosting control panel (cpanel) to do something called (Addon domain).
It means adding a domain to your control panel, so a folder or folder for this domain appears, which is supposed to contain the files for your site.
It is worth noting here that when you buy the domain name from the same hosting that you use, in this case you will not need to do the first step. Because domain name already has the same hosting DNS.
In the event that this is the first domain (PRIMARY), in this case you will not need to do the second step as well.
